Who are we?

The West Grand Boulevard Collaborative (WGBC) came into existence as a result of an incident that prompted Mildred and Tommie E. Robbins, Jr. to contact their neighbors with the hope of addressing problems on West Grand Boulevard between the Lodge and Jeffries Freeways.

They directed their first call to Henry Ford Hospital Security Department, and as a result of a conversation with Capt. John Weigle, what turned out to be the founding meeting of the West Grand Boulevard Collaborative was held in the Clara Ford Pavilion of Henry Ford Hospital on the 3rd Thursday of October 2004.  The meeting was attended by well over 25 individuals representing local businesses, community organizations, residents and block clubs who agreed that by working together, we can create an atmosphere of safety, beauty and prosperity on our patch of West Grand Boulevard.

We are a not-for-profit corporation registered with the Internal Revenue Service as of June 13, 2005.

Through this organization, we give assurance that we shall coalesce our intellectual, financial and human capital to build and sustain a vibrant commercial, residential and recreational community.

The WGBC meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m.  Meeting location varies, so please visit our Meeting Schedule for more information.
